Gauteng Roads and Transport on PUTCO bus services

PUTCO cancels bus services

PUTCO Bus Services have indicated to the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport its intention to cease operations in Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Sedibeng municipalities with effect from 30 June 2015.

This move has the potential to leave many commuters and residents stranded with no transport operations to get to work or schools.

The department would like to assure affected commuters that Autopax, a subsidiary of PRASA, will step in to replace Putco on all the subsidised routes within the areas.

MEC Vadi announced during the budget vote speech the departments intention to renegotiate subsidized contracts with bus companies in Gauteng and a joint Working Group has been constituted representing various municipalities, bus companies and the department.

Details of the visit are as follows:
Venue: 10 Harmony Street, Cnr Harmony and Fuel Streets, Coronationville
Date: 30 June 2015
Time: 11h00
