Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Ms Faith Mazibuko, has expressed her sadness upon the devastating news of the passing of yet another South Africa music icon, the legendary hip hop star Jabulani Tsambo better known by his stage name Hip Hop Pantsula, HHP or Jabba who passed on at the age of 38 today.
“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a young talented man, an award-winning artist, pioneer of Motswako rap, who frequently performed in several languages, though mostly in Setswana throughout the country and even across borders. We can call him an interpreter of social cohesion” says MEC Mazibuko.
“Our music industry has lost a hero, a Hip Hop pioneer whose poetic music touched the lives of many South Africans. I would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to the Tsambo family, friends and the music fraternity at large. He will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in peace and his legacy be an inspiration to the nation and bring comfort to the loved ones he left behind,” she continued.
