The Gauteng Liquor Board migrate collection account from South African Revenue Services (SARS) to First National Bank (FNB)

The Gauteng Department of Economic Development wishes to inform all liquor stakeholders of changes in the collection agent for the Gauteng Liquor Board (GLB) from South African Revenue Services (SARS) to First National Bank (FNB) hence forth, when making renewal and new applications payments.

As part of the GLB commitment to continuous service level improvement and re-engineer itself to be the most efficient and effective entity, GLB has migrated the collection agent account from the SARS to FNB.

This move will ensure that FNB, which has more branches across the country, will ensure better payments access for liquor traders when applying for or renewing liquor licenses.

The GLB FNB account will be maintained by FNB's Corporate Core Banking (CCB) office, located in Johannesburg.

Steps to be followed when applying or renewing liquor licenses

1. All applicants should approach their respective Regional offices when applying for a new licenses or renewing existing licenses

2. Regional offices will provide a reference number to the applicant depending on the type of license applied for

3. The applicant will go to the nearest FNB branch to make a payment

4. The receipt issued by FNB should be taken back to the regional office to be processed as part of the application - no Cheque payments are allowed

5. Only one payment is allowed for each application (one transaction per application)

6. This arrangement is coming into effect from 1 November 2010

7. All deposits requires a valid reference number

Gauteng Liquor Board looks forward to providing a speedy service through the partnership with FNB, as the board consistently welcomes dialogue, open engagement and constructive input from the liquor industry at large.

GLB also invites continuous engagement with its stakeholders on issues affecting the industry.
