Gauteng motorists are advised of a bridge demolition that will take place at the P3/6 road (N12 South) on Saturday, 06 June 2015 between 8h30 and 9h00.
The bridge marks the split between the dual carriageway and the single carriageway sections of the road.
A decision to demolish the bridge was taken in order to allow the addition of lanes on the single carriageway section of the road to create a dual carriageway for the full length of the project road.
Currently, the narrow bridge causes a serious traffic flow bottleneck and is a safety hazard due to its condition and age. The demolition will also allow future road improvements to increase capacity without causing traffic disruptions.
The department apologises for the inconvenience.
