The Gauteng Department of Health has suspended its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Mr Ndoda Biyela pending an internal investigation.
Mr Biyela was suspended following allegations of irregularities relating to procurement processes in the department. An investigation is underway to test the veracity of the allegations.
Mr Biyela is suspended with full pay pending the outcome of this process. Mr George Mahlangu has been appointed acting CFO. Mr Mahlangu is the CFO at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital.
