In an effort to strengthen primary healthcare in the province, Gauteng MEC for Health Hope Papo yesterday opened semi-fixed mobile clinic at Tarlton in Mogale City. The clinic with 5 consulting rooms will be utilized for training of the primary healthcare nursing students of University of Johannesburg for their experiential training for two days in the week.
Health care workers at the main clinic in Tarlton will also have an opportunity to use the clinic on other days. Services that will be available at this clinic include counseling, support groups, antenatal care, skills training sessions for the community and podiatry. This clinic was sponsored by Aspen Pharmacare and University of Johannesburg (UJ).
Speaking at the event, MEC Hope Papo said “We are grateful for Aspen and UJ for bringing this initiative to one of our clinic. It will help as a support structure to our existing clinic to deliver quality health care to the patients in an around Tarlton”
