More than 70 babies born in Gauteng Hospitals
Seventy two babies were were born in 12 hospitals across Gauteng province.
By midday on New year’s Day:
- Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital delivered 14 babies (8 girls and 6 boys). The first baby was born at 01h15.
- Leratong Hospital delivered 4 babies (2 girls and 2 boys). The first baby was born at 09h00
- Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital delivered 4 babies. (1 girl and 3 boys).The first baby was born on 00h05
- Bertha Gxowa Hospital delivered 2 babies (2 boys). The first baby was born at 00h35.
- Kalafong Hospital delivered 5 babies (1 girl and 4 boys) .The first baby was born at 00h01
- Kopanong Hospital delivered 2 babies (two girls). The first baby was born at 05h10
- Sebokeng Hospital delivered 5 babies (2 girls and 3 boys). The first baby was born at 00h40
- Jubilee Hospital delivered 5 babies (2 girls and 3 boys).
- Yusuf Dadoo Hospital delivered 8 babies (3 girls and 5 boys). The first baby was born at 00h05.
- Tembisa Hospital delivered 4 babies (1 girl and 3 boys). The first baby was born at 00h40
- Far East Rand Hospital delivered 7 babies(3 girls and 4 boys) .The first baby was born at 00h20
- Tshwane District Hospital delivered 3 babies (3 girls).The first baby was born at 00h50
