Gauteng MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Nelisiwe Mbatha-Mthimkhulu, on behalf of the Gauteng government congratulates and welcomes the newly elected Gauteng Cricket Board.
The Gauteng provincial government has been instrumental in the election of the new board which reflects the population in the province. The new board comprises of Dr Essop Pahad who is the President, Lazarus Zim (Chairman), Solomzi Ndima (Vice Chairman), Hussein Manack, Dr Mohammed Moosajee, Fazel Salie, Lungile Zondi, Zaid Glennistor and Azhar Saloojee.
The imminent task of the new board is to elect a Change Management Committee comprising of the previously disadvantaged clubs and a representative from the Gauteng provincial government. The committee will be responsible for re-engineering of the transformation charter, hosting rights and to ensure that constitutional reform takes place including issues such as demographic representation and voting rights.
