The Head of the Gauteng Department of Education has issued a precautionary suspension against an educator at Laerskool Brentwoodpark caught printing child pornography on school facilities. Such behaviour poses a potential risk to learners at the school. Possession of child pornography is a criminal offence.
The department views sexual misconduct in schools in an extremely serious light and has accordingly taken a decision to review all cases where allegations of sexual or racial abuse have been made. The aim is to ensure that such cases are properly prepared and prosecuted.
