Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development makes Gauteng proud

The Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Veterinary Services and Sustainable Resources Management directorate is the proud winner of The South African Quality Awards 2009/10 Best Quality Service award specifically for large enterprises.

According to Dr Malcolm de Budé, Chief Director, Veterinary Services, “We competed against some really well known private companies renowned for quality and efficiency. This proves that we are up there with the best of the private sector,” said Dr de Budé.

The awards are under the auspices of the Department of Trade and Industry, South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) South African Bereau of Standards (SABS) and National Metrology Institute of South Africa (NMISA). This makes us a finalist in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) competition for 2011, which includes all the neighbouring countries.

“Of course none of this would be possible without the amazing dedication of the staff. I am really proud of them all and especially the quality team, but they alone could not have achieved it. It needs the whole of the veterinary services team to make it happen,” added Dr de Budé.

Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has achieved so many accolades this year alone, on top of this the sustainable resource management team just obtained the prestigious Impumelelo Awards.

Department of Agriculture and Rural Development employees would like to congratulate the Veterinary Services’ team for their contribution in the development of the province and the country as a whole.
