Gauteng Community Safety investigates traffic learnership scam

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety has learned through a tip-off about the Gauteng Traffic learnership posts fraudulently advertised on an online jobs advertising site called myrsajobs.co.za.

The department distances itself from such false, misleading advert and urges members of the public not to fall victim to such a scam.

“The department is disgusted at reports that a company purporting to be working for the department to recruit and interview Gauteng Traffic Police learnership programme. We reject with contempt the criminal conduct of this company and further advice that the department never outsources its recruitment and selection. We are appealing to anyone with information to assist us with our investigation.

As the department, we take this matter seriously and we affirm that we will go all out to root out this immoral deed, “said Thapelo Moiloa, spokesperson for the Gauteng Department of Community Safety.

A case of fraud has been opened at the South African Police Service (SAPS) Central Johannesburg for further investigation.
