1. These fuel price adjustments will be effected on Wednesday, 3 August 2011.
2. During the current fuel price review period, 1 July to 28 July 2011, Brent crude oil prices increased from USD110.1 per barrel to USD 120.0 per barrel on 13 July 2011 and thereafter moved in a very narrow band of between USD 116 and USD 118 per barrel.
2.2 International product prices followed a similar price trend as that of Brent crude oil. These increases resulted in the Basic Fuel Price (BFP), on average, increased by 16.o c/l on petrol, 15.0 c/l on diesel and 8.0 c/l on IP. The rand strengthened marginally against the US Dollar compare to the average of Rand/US Dollar exchange rate realised in the previous fuel price review
3. Based on the fuel price information to the Department of Energy (DoE) disposal as at 28 July 2011, the following fuel price increases will be implemented with effect from 3 August 2011, namely:

Maximum Retail Price for LPGAS | 38/kg | cents per kilogram increase in the maximum retail price |
