Fuel adjustment for the month of April 2011

The following fuel price increases will be effective from 6 April 2011:

1. Petrol (all grades) – 54.0 c/l

2. Diesel (0.05 ppm) – 70.4 c/l

3. Diesel (0.005 ppm) – 69.4 c/l

4. Illuminating paraffin (wholesale price) – 48.6 c/l

5. Illuminating paraffin Single Maximum National Retail Price – 59.0 c/l

6. LPGas – 50.0 c/kg

The reasons for the fuel price increase are (a) the high crude oil prices, (b) road transport and pipeline tariffs adjustment in line with National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) and Road Freight Association processes, (c) fuel levy of 10 c/l and (d) Road Accident Fund (RAF) of 8 c/l as announced by the Minister of Finance in his budget vote speech in February 2011.
