Free State Transport on arrest of man for allegedly bribing traffic officers

Man arrested for allegedly bribing traffic officers in Free State

A truck driver was arrested on Saturday, 18 January 2013 near Bloemfontein on the N1 for allegedly trying to bribe provincial traffic officers with R200.00. The traffic officers inspected the truck the man was driving and detected nine badly worn tyres.

In an alleged attempt to evade a hefty fine because of the state of the vehicle’s tyres, the man offered a R200.00 bribe to the officers. Consequently they arrested him for bribery. Shaun Reddy of the firm Israel Blessing Logistics in Durban already appeared in court and was released on bail of R500.00. He will appear in court again on 14 February 2014.
