Former employees of Ciskei Transport Corporation approach Parliament for help

A group of just more than 100 former employees of the Ciskei Transport Corporation arrived at Parliament today from the Eastern Cape to ask the national legislature to help them with their claim for wages, Unemployment Insurance Fund cards and pensions.

The claim follows the employees being made redundant in the 1990s.

They first approached Parliament in April this year on this issue.

It was referred to the fifth Parliament, as the fourth Parliament would soon come to an end.

The former employees’ claim will be referred to relevant Parliamentary Committees.
