On Christmas day, a suspected drug mule whose travel documents denote citizenship of the Republic of El Equador landed at the Oliver Reginald Tambo International Airport. The members of the South African Police Service who keep watch over activities at the port of entry pounced on the 48 year old man who played obliviousness to his detrimental dealings.
During his detention, the culprit had to undergo an x-ray which detected the presence of foreign particles, other than food in his stomach. The man was then taken to the Tembisa Hospital where he was placed under police guard for monitoring during defecation. The close check up by the police yielded results when during excretion he let off plastic containers that had liquid cocaine. Yesterday, 2 January, the man collapsed and later passed away.
Current diagnosis indicates a heart attack due to drug overdose. The value of the cocaine will be determined in due course.
