In an effort to continuously offer quality healthcare, Folateng Unit at Pretoria West Hospital will be temporarily closed while chiller plants are replaced.
The unit which is mostly utilised by private doctors for gynae and obstetrics surgeries will be temporarily closed for about 24 weeks. The contractors have already assessed the site and the process of installation will begin in due course.
To accommodate patients, minor operations will be performed at Tshwane District Hospital.
During the temporary closure, theatre staff will be allocated to assist in other wards as well as in the Eye clinic. Folateng permanent staff will be distributed in appropriate departments in the hospital.
