Flooding and hazardous N14 road conditions after North West hailstorm

Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Disaster Management Centre is on high alert and closely monitoring the scene of flooding and hazardous road conditions on the N14 road near Carletonville between Ventersdorp and Krugersdorp. The area, 44 kilometres from Ventersdorp was hit by a severe hailstorm that brought traffic to a standstill on Monday evening.

As a result of culverts blocked by hail, North West Provincial Public Safety traffic was assisted by Ventersdorp traffic and the Department of Public Works, Transport and Roads to put up flood warning signs about 9 kilometres from Klerkskraal Dam.

Motorists are advised to observe safe following conditions and heed the flood warning signs to prevent accidents and incidents.
