The Ministerial Enquiry appointed by Lindiwe Sisulu, Minister of Human Settlements, to investigate the evictions at Nomzamo (Lwandle) Cape Town, invites all interested parties to assist in the formulation of recommendations. The relevant parties which may be considered include: NGOs, CBOs, similar institutions, individual members of the public, political parties, etc.
Having gone through the scheduled process of the oral public hearings, the Enquiry is now affording the last opportunity for different parties (individuals and/or organisations) to submit in writing relevant inputs. Upon receiving written submissions, the Enquiry may decide to invite parties for oral hearings at a date and venue to be announced in due course.
In the interest of transparency and meaningful public participation the Enquiry will conduct all its hearings in public and everyone interested can attend. However, this will apply on the basis of the first come first serve due to space limitations.
For general enquiries interested parties can contact the Secretariat: Lwandle Ministerial Enquiry: Attention: Dr Z Sokopo, C/O, The Housing Development Agency (HDA), 129 Bree Street, Cape Town, e-mail: LwandleEnquiry@dhs.gov.za, cell phone number: 082 883 3124, Fax: 086 510 2866.
