Members of the public are hereby cautioned that the Facebook page currently operating with the picture and name of the Minister of Energy, Ms Tina Joemat Pettersson is not genuine or authentic. The warning is prompted by various calls to the Minister by key stakeholders who expressed frustrations that their Facebook inboxes were not answered.
The Minister does not have a personal or official Facebook or twitter account in her name, but appreciates the value of social media in enhancing mass communication and information dissemination, and how the social media has revolutionarised/transformed corporate communication in all sectors.
The department of energy, however, does have a facebook and twitter account that may be used to follow the activities of both the Minister and the Deputy Minister and the departmental programmes.

The Minister hopes the strong base of the online community will benefit from the departmental sites which will also be used to drive the departmental campaigns and programmes and get our message into places it's never been.
