Executive Council Lekgotla

The Northern Cape Provincial Government's Executive Council is convening an extended Cabinet Lekgotla on the 13 and 14 September 2011, at the Good Hope Game Resort. The Lekgotla will be attended by the whole executive council, Director-General, Deputy Director-Generals, and all Heads of Departments, with senior managers from the different departments.

The Lekgotla takes place three months after the 18 May local government elections, and a month after the National Cabinet Lekgotla of July.

All of these platforms seek to re-align the programme of government at all levels, with a particular focus of strengthening local municipalities to expedite the delivery of services to communities and for government from national to provincial, to support local municipalities.

The Lekgotla will receive presentations on the five key priority areas of government, as articulated in both the national/provincial and the local government elections manifestos.

This Lekgotla will assess the progress we have made thus far, and put together a programme of action for the Northern Cape Provincial Government for the next few months of this financial year.

Let us remain focus and committed to improve the lives of the people of the Northern Cape. In the words of Tom Flores, "A total commitment is paramount to reaching the ultimate in performance".
