The Department of Employment and Labour in partnership with Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality (DRKKDM) is currently taking service delivery to the people of the district and has already helped settle claims both for Compensation and Unemployment Insurance of close to R4 million.

This campaign is led by the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, Boitumelo Moloi, and the Director General, Thobile Lamati and is meant to forge partnerships between organised labour, organised business, government departments and communities in tackling service delivery challenges; and creating partnerships that will boost the economy and employment in the region.

The stakeholder component of this build up campaign commenced with a meeting between the Department and representatives from trade union federations namely, COSATU, NACTU, FEDUSA and SAFTU. In this meeting, the department reported progress in payments made from claims in Compensation Fund to an amount of more than R300 000 since the campaign started on, while Unemployment Insurance Fund has paid over R3 500 000 in claims.
