The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting residents to become volunteers as part of the 2010 World Cup.
Those interested should be at the following areas on Saturday, 20 February from 09h00 until 14h00 to register:
Bulithando Park in KwaThema
Siluma Park in Katlehong and
eThafeni Park in Tembisa
This opportunity is not only limited to individuals, as small, medium and micro-enterprises (SMMEs) are also invited to seize the opportunity by being part of the registrations.
Information on the various opportunities would be presented by the city’s state of the art welcome village that will be stationed at Dries Niemandt Park in Kempton Park, and other public viewing areas which will be operated by the municipality during the soccer extravaganza.
And those who would like to register, but at the same time would like to take part in the Soweto derby should not be daunted because the registration will be followed by the screening of the Amakhosi locking horns with arch rivals, the Buccaneers.
This will unfold at all the venues where the metro will be conducting the registration. These facilities all have massive television screens similar to those that will be used during the World Cup at fan parks.
