Eastern Cape Transport offers bursaries

In a bid to build a new transport sector cadre and open the window to the future for the youth of this province, the Eastern Cape Department of Transport is offering transport related bursaries for full year study to 33 candidates from around the province for the 2012 academic year.

Bursaries are limited to the following fields of study:

Through this project, more than 350 Eastern Cape youth have benefited since 2003. The main focus of the bursary scheme is to develop the scarce skills in the transport sector, particularly in this province.

Selection criteria

Preference will be given to individuals who excel academically, demonstrate potential and are not benefiting in any other bursary scheme. Applicants must meet admission requirements as stipulated by the University/Technikon. Applicants should at least have obtained a D (H  D (HG) - aggregate symbol in Mathematics and Science or at least Level 4.
