The Eastern Cape Provincial Government, led by Premier Ms Noxolo Kiviet started a two-day Executive Council Lekgotla, at the East London International Convention Centre, yesterday.
The January Lekgotla is an important strategic planning session of the provincial government, where the Premier, MECs, Mayors and CEOs of parastatals meet to plan for the year ahead. Decisions taken at this meeting will provide the basis for the State of the Province Address to be delivered by Premier Kiviet on 17 February 2012.
Amongst other things the Lekgotla is expected to do a mid-term assessment of government’s performance on the five key priorities. It is also expected to chart the way for accelerated delivery of services in 2012.
A media statement will be issued on 31 January 2012, to inform the media about the resolutions of the Lekgotla.
