Eastern Cape province introduces the Road Safety Council

The country is bleeding profusely and the battle against this terrible malice cannot be won if we work in silos. Therefore there is a need for a collaborative partnership with key stakeholders and community involvement in road safetyinitiatives. In her speech, theMEC for Transport in the Eastern Cape province, Ms Ghishma Barry, maintained that suchan approach needs to have specific focus on intensive community involvement to empower those communities through education and job creation. She further reiterated that the decrease to road accidents, monitoring stray animals through community involvementwillbe achieved through this initiative of the road safety councils.

The Road TrafficManagementCorporation together with the Eastern Cape province call upon the community of Eastern Capeand all stakeholders to support the work of this newly launchedRoad Safety initiative in order to harness safety on our roads.
