Eastern Cape Premier Noxolo Kiviet heaps praise on Anaso Jobodwana

The people of our province should be proud of the performance displayed by sprint athlete Anaso Jobodwana at the 2012 London Olympic Games last night. This young lad showed a character of unbelievable proportions as he lined up against some of the great athletes at the 2012 Games.

The mere fact that he qualified for the finals was on its own a great feat, bearing in mind that this was his first Olympic Games. His is a future Olympic champion and should hold his head high. Age is on his side and I have no doubt in my mind that he will take the 2012 Games as a learning curve and prepare better for a 2016 Rio Olympic Games onslaught.

His participation in the London Games should ignite a lot of interest from young people in our province, especially those from previously disadvantaged communities. We rely on our schools to unearth more talent of Anaso’s calibre so that they can represent our Nation in the future Olympic Games.

Bravo “Thole leDuna” you made us proud
