The Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Vuyani Mapolisa to the position of Secretary to the Legislature, with effect from today, 1 June 2015. Mr Mapolisa has been acting in the position since 1 February 2015.
He brings with him a wealth of experience and has previously worked in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature between 2001 and 2007. Mr Mapolisa’s academic qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management and a Master’s Degree on Public Administration with the University of Fort Hare.
His latest position was at the National Assembly as the General Manager for Core Business and Strategy and was responsible for managing the Office of the Speaker. He re-joined the Legislature in October 2013 as the Chief Operations Officer. His responsibilities included Human Resources, IT and Security Services.
Commenting on this appointment, the Honourable Speaker of the Legislature, Ms Noxolo Kiviet said: “As the Legislature we are excited to have a permanent accounting officer and we wish him well in this challenging job. We are confident that he will be up to the challenge”.
Mr Mapolisa is appointed to serve the institution on a five year contract.
