Eastern Cape to increase motor vehicle licence fees

All fees for motor vehicles will be increased with 8% in the Eastern Cape as from the 1st of July 2012. The Eastern Cape is currently the fourth highest in the country in comparison with other provinces.

It is important to note that the increase of miscellanous fees such as learners and driving license tests, roadworthy test have been taken over by the Road Traffic Management Corporation. Provinces will have no control of these types of fees.

Personalised number plates and the agency fees for Registering Authorities will not be increased.
