The Eastern Cape Provincial Government has moved swiftly and appointed Mr Bongani Gxilishe as the Acting Director-General. This comes in the wake of the end of contract for the former Director-General Dr Sibongile Muthwa.
Mr Gxilishe currently Head of Department for the Roads and Public Works will fulfil all the Director-General responsibilities up until such time that a suitable has been appointed. Recruitment processes to find a suitable candidate are currently underway.
Dr Muthwa was at the helm of the provincial government since 2004 and last week Premier Kiviet and her staff bade farewell to her.
