North West Acting MEC for Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison Dr Magome Masike has learnt with shock and described as a double tragedy and immeasurable loss the death of two off-duty senior police officers who collided with each other on the P53/1 Sun City-Mogwase road on Monday night.

The accident allegedly occurred when one of the warrant officers lost control of his car in the wet and slippery weather, at around 11h40 and crashed into a vehicle driven by his colleague travelling in the opposite direction. Three other vehicles reportedly crashed into each other at the accident scene, injuring two other road users.

The two deceased officers, Gosiame Molaolwa, 50, and Aaron Mokhandawiri 47, were based at the Sun City and Phokeng police stations respectively. The injured were taken to the Moses Kotane Hospital for medical treatment. MEC Masike wishes to convey his condolences to the Molaolwa and Mokhandawiri families, colleagues of the two officers and communities that they served.
