The Minister of Communications, Ms Dina Pule, has gazetted two draft Policy Directions for public consultation.
The Policy direction seeks to address the following:
Direct Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) to fast track the finalisation of the methodology for spectrum and eligibility criteria in the 2500 -2690 (“2.6 GHz) bands.
To consider the scope of the action to be taken at the national level to promote the efficient use of the digital dividend spectrum in the frequency bands 174 – 230 MHz and 470 – 790 MHz.
Interested parties are hereby invited to furnish written submissions on the proposed Draft Policy Directions to ICASA on Electronic Communication Services in High Demand Spectrum .The comments should be sent within 30 calendar days of the date of publication of this notice at the following address:
