The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) will be hosting the South African Expos in China in November 2013, with the objective of increasing exports of South Africa’s value added goods and services by taking advantage of opportunities in the Chinese market. The exact dates and cities for the exhibitions will be confirmed during May 2013.
Companies that wish to participate need to:
- have been in business for at least three years
- have a proven business track record
- be competitive in the South African market
- be export ready and have exported previously
- have the capacity to supply large volumes on time and
- have a valid original tax clearance certificate.
Targeted Sectors for this event include agro-processing, chemicals, plastics, steel, aluminium, automotive, electro-technical, manufactured products (chapter 84), capital equipment, pulp and paper, oil and gas, energy and renewable energy, infrastructure, ict, transport, mining and beneficiation.
Department of Trade and Industry will offer:
- airfare (up to a pre-determined amount)
- hotel accommodation (up to a pre-determined amount)
- exhibition space and stand
- freighting of material to the exhibition and back to South Africa (up to a pre-determined amount) and
- business-to-business meetings.
The closing date for applications is 8 April 2013.
