The distraught civic organisations of Sterkspruit in the Eastern Cape have had productive and peaceful discussions with Minister Richard Baloyi who was this week accompanied by the province's Premier Noxolo Kiviet and local government MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane to find solutions to the community challenges.
The civic organisations in the area had threatened to stage widespread community protests to voice their dissatisfaction with Senqu Local municipality.
Minister Baloyi's intervention has averted the planned protest and started the community engagement by all spheres of government to find solution.
