Disciplinary proceedings against suspended North West Chief Director for roads, Eddie Thebe, were finalised just before mid-night yesterday (Tuesday) but without the presiding officer in the case of making a ruling.
The ruling on the matter is expected by Friday next week, 23 April.
DC chairperson, Patrick Ngutshabe is expected to receive in writing arguments from both Thebe and the department on or before Friday this week. He indicated that upon receipt of the arguments he could make a ruling in a form of a report to the Head of Department and MEC. In case the five-day target in which to make a ruling could not be met, Ngutshabe se he would communicate same to the department.
Thebe, who has pleaded not guilty on all charges, faced more than 10 gross misconduct charges including breach of supply chain procedures related among others, to the awarding of tenders for road projects.
He was suspended in September last year.
Meanwhile, suspended Head of Department (HoD) Nic van Staden and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Kwekwu Odame-Takyi are also scheduled to appear before the disciplinary committee from Monday, 19 to 23 April.
They are to answer also to answer to charges of gross misconduct. Van Staden and Odame-Takyi were suspended in December last year.
