As part of the November Disability Awareness Month the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will together with the Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development, City of Johannesburg and the City of Sedibeng host the Disability Awareness games on Thursday, November 24.
This is as the Department joins the rest of South Africa and the World in an effort to eradicate challenges faced by people living with disabilities including stigma, discrimination and inequalities among others.
This year’s Gauteng’s celebrations leading towards the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in December will be held under the theme “Kuyasheshwa: Including persons with disabilities in working for a better Gauteng”.
The activities of the day include a 5km fun walk ; Goal ball ’ Tabletennis;
and Football.
