The Presidency has noted with concern a media advert on the “National Conference on reclaiming and living out the values of a just and caring society” by the National Heritage Council.
The advert, inviting interested people and organisations to be part of defining ways of reaching public consensus on the need to restore values of humanity, states that Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe will be a keynote speaker at the conference.
The Presidency would like to put it on record that the Office of The Deputy President neither received nor accepted such a request from the National Heritage Council concerning such a conference.
It should therefore be noted that the Deputy President will not be addressing such an event as claimed in The Sunday Times advert.
