Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe on Wednesday, 9 May 2012 arrived in Helsinki, Finland on a working visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen.
The purpose of the visit is to further strengthen bilateral political and economic relations between the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Finland.
The Deputy President will hold discussions with the Prime Minister of Finland where they will consolidate identified areas of bilateral and trilateral cooperation.
The Deputy President is accompanied by Ministers Naledi Pandor of Science and Technology and Edna Molewa of Water and Environmental Affairs.
The Deputy President will return to South Africa on Friday 11 May 2012.
