Deputy President hosts dinner reception at Ekhaya Hospitality Centre in Wellington

The Deputy President, his Excellency Kgalema Motlanthe hosted a dinner reception at the Ekhaya Hospitality Centre in Wellington, New Zealand attended by business and government leaders as well as expatriate South Africans.

Members of the Springbok management team as well as players not in the starting lineup for the first game against Wales were also in attendance.

Three South African government Ministers - Mr Paul Mashatile, Minister of Arts and Culture, and Mr Rob Davies, Minister of Trade and Industry as well as the Minister of Sport and Recreation Mr Fikile Mbalula also attended the event.

All speakers were united in their support for the Springboks campaign at the Rugby World Cup.

Three South African bands performed at the event, giving it a unique South African ambience, emhanced by Protea flower arrangements and much African themed clothing among those present.

Tomorrow the Deputy President will be signing an arts and culture agreement in the film sector with New Zealand, before returning to Ekhaya to host a business luncheon and networking meeting for industry leaders from the two countries.
