Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga together with Eastern Cape MEC for Roads and Transport, Thandiswa Marawu will interact with motorists, passengers and pedestrians during a multi-disciplinary road safety activation engagement as part of the 2012 National Festive Season Road Safety Campaign launched by the Minister earlier in November.
The Deputy Minister and MEC will be joined by road traffic law enforcement officers, the South African Police Service, senior national and provincial government officials and key transport sector stakeholders.
The activation will emphasize and call upon all road users, public transport operators (short and long distance), private motorists, passengers and pedestrians to take personal responsibility for their safety on the roads.
Road traffic law enforcement officers and officials will step up road safety operations throughout the festive period in order to reduce the carnage on the roads.
Together, we can save millions of lives!
