Deputy Minister Pinky Kekana concludes a successful InHope Conference in Greece 

Deputy of Minister of Communications, Ms Pinky Kekana has today, 15 June 2018, concluded a successful conference in Crete, Greece where South Africa participated in the International Association of Internet Hotlines (InHope) Annual General Meeting.

South Africa’s participation in the conference was at the invitation of the InHope Foundation. Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Film and Publication Board (FPB) delegation from South Africa who are tasked with the mandate to prevent Child Sex Abuse Material from being created and distributed within South African borders.

The Deputy Minister has welcomed the interest shown by the other international hotlines and Interpol to strengthen their relationship with the FPB and the South African Government and further described the InHope as a success and reiterated the importance of the FPB not only in South Africa but also on the African continent.

In addition the Deputy Minister also paid special tribute to Youth with disabilities to mark the upcoming Youth Day commemoration. “We value the role that Young people in 1976 played, as we celebrate Youth Day let us walk the path with the youth especially those with disabilities because they too must feature at the centre of society .” said Deputy Minister Kekana.
