Rural areas can produce creative young black industrialists – Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Masina

Rural areas can produce creative young Black Industrialists that can create sustainable jobs and grow the economy. This was said by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Mzwandile Masina. He was speaking at the youth commemoration event that took in Mbemba High School in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend.

The purpose of the event which was attended by more than five hundred young people was to educate and empower the youth on skills development so that they can be able to actively participate in the economy.

Deputy Minister Masina said the youth in such marginalised areas can have equal opportunities as the rest of the young people in urban areas if they are properly developed and mentored.

“With the vast land and agricultural opportunities in these parts young people can get involved in agro-processing and manufacturing that can see them being key player in the mainstream economy,’’ he said.

Masina further said for young people to success all role players including progressive businesses must take part in transforming the economy in order to fight unemployment.

Masina commended young people who continuously fight social ills in their communities and making a difference in their schools and communities.

Mbemba High School received twenty one laptops, thirty tablets plus a refurbishment lab through the Department of Telecommunication and Postal serves and its partners.
