Please join the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Derek Hanekom and the United States Ambassador Donald Gips when they make an important announcement about the development of the microbicide, 1% tenofovir gel.
The announcement involves the newly-created Follow-on African Consortium for Tenofovir Studies (FACTS), which is a South African initiative established to develop and conduct further research to test whether tenofovir gel can protect women against HIV infection and also against infection with herpes.
