The Mpumalanga Department of Education strongly condemns the incident which occurred at Kamhola Secondary School in Barberton on Friday, 12 September 2014, where learners got into a fight leading to one learner being stabbed and admitted at the hospital.
The department is going to institute an investigation to probe the circumstances that led to the incident.
We urge our learners to refrain from such practices but stay focused in their studies at all times.
The department will also send a team of officials from the inclusive Education Directorate to asses and render counselling services to the learners who witnessed this incident at the time of occurrence.
