The Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development would like to convey heartfelt condolences to the family and fans of Thabang Lebese who passed on at Helen Joseph Hospital in Auckland Park last night.
Thabang Lebese, former soccer star was admitted at the hospital for more than a month.
The Department would like to state that complications that the patient experienced were not as a result of the treatment he received at the hospital or as a result of negligence by any health worker.
The patient received all the necessary medical care and treatment as well as psycho-social assistance while admitted at the hospital.
During his stay at the hospital, management met with the family and explained his condition and treatment that he was receiving.
The Department sympathises with family at this traumatic and difficult moment.
