The Department of Mineral Resources wishes to assure all prospective applicants that the newly launched South African Mineral Resources Administration System (SAMRAD) is fully functional. Applicants must note that the system regulates the number of users to avoid the clogging of the system.
SAMRAD usage statistics
As of end of business on Monday, 18 April the system had 689 people logged on, 2012 visits, 15383 page views and more than 700 registered users. We request members of the public who have no genuine intention to lodge applications to refrain from registering onto the system as they are inhibiting serious applicants from accessing the system.
The department has setup a help desk to assist applicants should they have any technical difficulties. Prospective applicants are requested to call 012 444 3119 for assistance.
We request patience as there is an unprecedented influx of applications. The volumes are higher than the number of applications that would normally be received at our regional offices on a daily basis.
