The Gauteng Department of Health is investigating the cause of fire that broke out at one of the theatres at Tshwane District Hospital last night.
One unused warmer, a roller mattress and ceiling were damaged during the fire. No one injured.
The fire was contained to one theatre as all door were closed at the time. The Department of Infrastructure Development has done initial assessment and extensive investigation will be done tomorrow (Monday June 25).
Elective surgeries have been cancelled for tomorrow however the hospital will continue to do emergency surgical procedures at its ophthalmic theatre which was not affected by the fire.
