The Department of International Relations and Cooperation announces the departure of Director-General Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) wishes to announce the departure of DG Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba at the end of the current financial year (31 March 2011). This is in response to a specific request made by the Director-General (DG) occasioned by personal reasons and accepted by the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Minister Nkoana-Mashabane.

Dr Ntsaluba has been DG of the department since September 2003. Before that he served both as Deputy Director-General (DDG) and later DG in the Department of Health since May 1995.

"I wish to place on record my profound gratitude to President Zuma, Deputy President Motlanthe, Minister Nkoana-Mashabane and the Deputy Ministers in DIRCO for the opportunity afforded to me and the support I received in the course of my duties. I also wish to take the opportunity to thank all those who in the course of my work have contributed so immensely in making this such a memorable and rewarding journey," said Dr Ntsaluba

Minister Nkoana-Mashabane wishes to thank Dr Ntsaluba for his selfless contribution to the department and to advancing our vision of a better South Africa in a better Africa and a better world.
