Home Affairs Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Friday, 6 May 2011 officially open the e-Jozini Home Affairs Office in e-Jozini, KwaZulu-Natal.This will ensure that for the first time, communities in the vicinity will have direct access to the Department and services rendered.
The opening of a new office in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) comes within the context of the Department’s commitment to ensuring an increased footprint, especially in rural areas so that communities can access Home Affairs services.
This is also part of the Department’s commitment to participatory governance through, amongst others, the mobilisation of stakeholder forums as well as regular interactions with citizens in various communities.In this regard Minister Dlamini Zuma and KZN Social Development MEC Meshak Radebe will interact with members of the community at the Bhambanana Sports Grounds in e-Jozini,
On Thursday 5 May 2011, Minister Dlamini Zuma and Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan interacted with members of the stakeholder forum in the Western Cape as well members of the community in Atlantis.As part of their engagement with the community, Minister Dlamini Zuma and Deputy Minister Chohan also handed out IDs and birth certificates.
