It has come to the attention of the Department of Defence and the South African National Defence Force that hoax invitations to an alleged birthday party of the Chief of the South African National Defence Force as well as that the departmental Head of Communication is inviting people to attend a conference in Dubai are circulating in various social media and websites.
The department distances itself from the insinuations perpetuated by the two invitations and urges the public to disregard them as they do not originate from any of SANDF structures. Those who receive these hoax invitations are requested to report them to the nearest SAPS.
